Hollowblue

Hollowblue, originally a solo project by Gianluca Maria Sorace, becomes a band in 2003 when Marco Calderisi aka Killjoy on guitar, Giancarlo Russo on bass and Federico Moi on drums joined him.
On strings they had the support of several people: Chiara Cavalli, Sarah Crespi and Sarah Mayer on violin and Ellie Young on cello. In the summer of 2009 the keyboardist Enrico Filippi permanently joined the band.

Hollowblue have released three albums, each of which has received fantastic reviews and attention from both Italian and international press.
The last two albums received 4 stars in the prestigious British magazine Uncut and Italian Rollingstone and the official David Bowie site dedicated them an entire page of praise, with particular attention to their version of the song "Letter to Hermione" recorded with Luca Faggella for the tribute Repetition*Bowie.

Their collaborations are always of great interest: the American writer Dan Fante, son of John Fante (they wrote a song with and now planning an entire album of music and poetry), the Italian/Finnish Lara Martelli, Anthony Reynolds of the British band Jack, the songwriter Luca Faggella and recently Sukie Smith aka Madam.

They did, with Sukie Smith, the first Italian music promo in stereoscopy 3D.
It won as best 3D clip at 3D Film Festival in Hollywood.
It has been projected as special event at CapalbioCinema International Short Film, and will be at Orlando Film Festival.

Stella Burns

There are several stories about Mr Stella Burns
Someone says he leaves fire footprints on the ground.
Someone else has seen long trails of smoke rising continuously from the ears.
But the most believable theory is that he is a creature from a far planet, keen on 50's western comics.
Apart all that there something sure: he burns with love for us.

King Me

King Me met in a living room early 1999. At first it was just a gathering of some friends who wanted to record some songs for private use. As by bizarre coincidence it was cheaper to press 1000 CDs than 300, so some CDs were send to magazines. A few weeks later King Me got a call to play Paradiso, Amsterdam. In a hurry a stage band was formed and from then on King Me always has been somewhere between a project and a “real band”.

A lot of radio shows (a.o. VPRO 3VOOR 12, VPRO De Avonden, 2 Meter Sessions, USA, French and Chech Radio shows) and a lot of well known concert venues (a.o. Paradiso, Vera, Nighttown, Rotown) followed.

A record deal was signed. King Me played with bands like Timesbold, Herman Düne, Swearing at motorists, Dead Man Ray, Sin Ropas, the Ex and Bettie Serveert. CDs got wonderful press reviews (Oor, Music Maker best authors release, FRET, Aloha) as well as some really bad reviews (chosen by VPRO’s Jaap Boots as worse band of the year). It’s the kind of music King Me makes: love it or hate it … Records were released in Holland, Italy, Belgium, USA, Spain and Portugal.

King Me’s music is referred to as somewhere between Velvet Underground, Tindersticks, Sparklehorse, Pavement, Nick Cave, Smog and Radiohead.
